Examples of items to bring to our class include keys to previous houses, old pet tags, lockets, fabric flowers from hats, special buttons from a grandmother’s blouse, brooches, chains, beads, earrings, and rings. We’ll be using earth-friendly formulas for paints and art-supply-store-alternative collage mediums and adhesives like lavender rice paste, casein glue, and blood orange gum arabic. The focus will be on layering rich collaged artworks using a variety of materials and techniques, including bold vinegar painting, egg tempera, and velvety casein paints.
